ESMO is the leading European professional organisation for medical oncology. Comprising 17,000 oncology professionals from over 150 countries, it is a society of reference for oncology education and information. The ESMO congress is the world’s premier congress in medical oncology, which will take place in Munich from the 19-23 October 2018. The congress attracts an international community of experts all focused on finding the most effective cancer treatment solutions available today.

Founded in 1975, ESMO has European roots with a global reach, welcoming oncology professionals from around the world. ESMO connects professionals with diverse expertise and experience in the field of oncology. It has an integrated multi-professional approach to cancer care, from a medical oncology perspective. ESMO seeks to erase boundaries in cancer care worldwide.

In 2017 the congress had over 23.000 participants, with over 167 exhibitors and 550 invited speakers.

After having hosted the “ESMO Workshop: Science for Advocates” in October 2017, Munich is now looking forward to hosting the ESMO 2018 Congress.
